completed stone

We are so glad to have the stone build completed. Triple woohoo and much merriment in general.

We are very pleased with their work. With some supervision, they managed to get it looking just as we wanted it to. I don't have the photos yet of the renovated workshop, but DIY Dad says the pointing and fix-up looks good.

For new readers, here is the original plot on the day they marked out to begin.

The house last week. Yep, snowed up there, 700m, not down here.

The 'workshop' was an existing building that we are renovating, joined to the main house and will be my LIBRARY, and the Wildflower's playroom. The top will be a terrace.

A close-up of the windows we had made, stained olive green.

DIY Dad has finally started work on the inside. He is insulating and plasterboarding. We decided to bite the bullet and pay for someone else to plasterboard (drywall) the really large walls and ceilings. It would mean weeks of work otherwise. The guy starts next week I think. The carpenter is working on our doors so that the house can finally be entirely secured.

And this is a neighbour keeping an eye on things.

And now you're talking about plasterboard and insulation, that all sound so very close to it becoming home.
