a moment for the lost lives

Just want to take a moment and think of those in Victoria, Australia. DIY Dad and I have been reading the stories and looking through the images online for the past hour. Devastating.
My heart goes out to everyone there. So many lives lost, so much destruction, so many animals and natural habitat lost, and still going. Bewildering when you think much of it was intentional.

Amber wrote a post listing relevant numbers to give help.

  1. I was reading about the fires earlier, really upset me.. particularly on the bbc website, which had a clip of a man getting really choked up because the day before he'd been playing golf with a 12yr old that had died in the fires... its all so shocking and horrible.

I don't mind admitting it brought tears to my eyes.

  2. Thank you for the link. I hope people really focus on donating to the wildlife organisations too.
What a sad time. You just cannot believe such destruction...xxxx

  3. It is all so sad. My thoughts are with them.

  4. I just heard about this tonight. I've been in wildfire situations in California before, but never anything like that. It's really terrible. One of the most heartbreaking stories was from a firefighter describing how they had to abandon a town where they knew people were trapped, because it was too dangerous for them to try to help. I can't imagine what that was like.

  5. I'v been following this with feelings of great sadness and disbelief at the huge devastation cause. Sad times. Hope you don't have family or friends in the affected areas.

  6. Just about everyone I know is in Sydney Carin. x
